Toronto’s Eglinton LRT could open on Feb. 8, Ford says

A long-delayed light rail transit line in Toronto could be opening in less than two weeks.
Speaking to reporters at Queen’s Park, Premier Doug Ford said the goal is to have the Eglinton Crosstown LRT up and running on Feb. 8.
The City of Ottawa has agreed to buy a landfill site in Ottawa’s rural southeast for $95 million, according to a report to city council. The deal is pending council approval.
