Ottawa Now - Air Canada suspends all flights to Cuba, issues 'empty flights' to retrieve tourists

Air Canada has announced that it will be suspending all flights to Cuba until further notice, a decision that was fueled by an ongoing shortage of aviation fuel on the island. In the meantime, the airline will be operating empty flights to return roughly 3,000 passengers. Eugenio Landeiro Reyes, a Cuban who is currently living in Ottawa, is a member of the Cuban Canadians Coalition. He says that several of his cousins and friends still live in Cuba, and claims that a mismanagement of the Tourism industry turned this issue a predictable event. Reyes joins Kristy Cameron on today's Ottawa Now.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has warned of “significant” deficits in her upcoming budget on Thursday, with analysts forecasting a shortfall somewhere around $10 billion.
While Smith has made a point of warning voters about the red ink her United Conservative Party is about to spill, however, the projected deficit is hardly out of the ordinary.
