Ontario ends tuition fee freeze at public colleges, universities

Post-secondary institutions will be allowed to increase their tuition fees by two per cent per year for three years, before switching to an inflation-informed increase after that.
Mayor Mark Sutcliffe and Wendy Stephanson, City Manager, will respond to media questions during a brief recess at Wednesday's Council meeting.
The following subject-matter experts will be available to answer questions:
Debbie Stewart, General Manager, Strategic Initiatives
Clara Freire, General Manager, Community and Social Services
Residents will be able to watch the media availability on the Ottawa City Council YouTube channel.

OTTAWA — The G7 finance ministers met on Monday to discuss the potential release of emergency oil reserves amid soaring prices due to the Iranian conflict but stopped short of providing that relief.
“We will continue to closely monitor the situation and developments in the energy markets and will meet as needed to exchange information and to coordinate within the G7 and with international partners,” said a statement, following the meeting.
“We stand ready to take necessary measures, including to support global supply of energy such as stockpile release.”
