Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Fri. February 27th, 2026

February 27, 2026

New York City has started to pay residents $30 per hour to shovel sidewalks and bus stops. One of these new areas is located in Lowertown, and is represented at City Hall by Rideau-Vanier councillor Stephanie Plante. She is proud to see that this long-standing request in her ward is finally being addressed, but adds that the conversation should go beyond the simple steps.
