An Ottawa city councillor is venting her frustrations over a series of prolonged road closures and construction in her ward. For many years, businesses along Richmond Road have complained about Stage 2 of LRT construction, saying it drives customers away. During this time, the intersection of Woodroffe Avenue and Richmond Road served as a major inconvenience for those who lived there. In December, it finally re-opened. But now, as we approach an 8-month closure on Woodroffe Avenue between Richmond and Deschenes, there is barely any patience left. Bay Ward councillor Theresa Kavanagh joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 2. Meantime, a new study is displaying a sharp rise in young men who have contacted Ontario’s Mental Help Line for gambling-related problems. After private online gambling received the green light from the Ford government to set up shop, this rate has skyrocketed by more than 300 percent.
