Metrolinx looking to ‘build public trust’ after rocky launch for Finch West LRT

The Manitoba government is planning to scrap the PST on all groceries, as announced earlier today by Premier Wab Kinew. Here in Ontario, it's a bit of a different story. Most basic groceries – fruits, vegetables, and canned beans – are already exempt from Ontario’s provincial HST. Prepared foods – snacks, beverages, and single-serve items – are taxed. So that would be anything from bags of chips and chocolate bars, to pre-made salads and rotisserie chickens.
