The City of Ottawa says neither City Staff nor Ottawa Police have the necessary resources to manage ‘school streets’. Back in February of 2024, a pilot project was introduced for Trille Des Bois Elementary School in Vanier, located just a few blocks south of Beechwood Avenue. During pick-up and drop-off times during school days, temporary barriers were installed to keep motor vehicle traffic off the road. That pilot project, however, was never adopted. Joining the show with their reactions are Rideau-Vanier councillor Stephanie Plante and Trille Des Bois Elementary parent Michelle Mora. Turning our attention to Bells Corners, today marks the end of an era for an Ottawa-based success story.
