Ottawa Now - A firsthand look at Wednesday's LRT snafu

In the wake of a menacing ice storm, Ottawa’s LRT faced a daunting test of survival. Unfortunately, Line 1 blinked, as an overhead cable snapped just before 1:30 Wednesday afternoon and forced the R1 bus fleet to take action. Sophie Vincent, who works at UOttawa, witnessed part of the incident from her office. Sofia Mandoli, a transit rider, was given permission by her bosses to head home early and outsmart Mother Nature.
