Ottawa police are searching for a pickup truck involved in a hit-and-run collision in Barrhaven that left an elementary school crossing guard with life-threatening injuries Monday morning.

Since the Ford government’s speed camera purge last November, new data shows that Ottawa’s drivers are speeding in school zones more frequently. A recent report from Ottawa’s Public Works and Infrastructure Committee says the removal of these cameras has decreased speed compliance and increased high-end speeding.
