Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Tues. March 24th, 2026

March 24, 2026

The City of Ottawa is looking to replace its 10-year housing plan with another 10-year plan. Does the new plan, on paper, deliver the goods? Kristy Cameron checks in with Katie Burkholder-Harris, the Executive Director for Alliance To End Homelessness Ottawa. Meantime, 10 years after it was infamously launched by the Trudeau regime, the federal government is working to replace the troubled Phoenix pay system. There’s just one problem, though. According to a new report from Canada’s Auditor General, pay errors could carry over if the old backlog isn’t cleared. We gather instant reaction from PIPSC President Sean O'Reilly and CAPE President Nathan Prier. Plus, a Chick-Fill-A location is supposedly coming to College Square, and reportedly replacing a Beer Store location. However, that aforementioned destination for Ontario booze begs to differ. CFRA’s Chris Holski has the latest.
