10/3 podcast: Pierre Poilievre’s U.S. tour and the Joe Rogan effect: Can it move the needle?

March 25, 2026

This year has been an up-and-down year for federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre.

He is back in the House of Commons as leader of the Official Opposition and got an overwhelming show of support from delegates at the party’s convention in Calgary, but his party’s support is stalling in national polls, and the Carney Liberals could garner a majority with a series of byelection wins.

Poilievre recently embarked on a trip to the U.S., where he met with officials and business leaders, which culminated in a highly publicized appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience.

National Post politics reporter Stephanie Taylor joins Dave Breakenridge to discuss why Poilievre opted to make an appearance on Rogan’s podcast, why it was potentially a political win and whether the appearance helps sell him to potential voters in Canada.
