Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Tues. April 7th, 2026

April 7, 2026

Yet another HART Hub has opened its doors in Canada’s Capital – this time in Bells Corners. The West-Ottawa Homeless and Addiction Recovery Treatment Hub cut the grand-opening ribbon at 11 o’clock this morning, marking the second such hub to open in Ottawa. It is led by the Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre, in collaboration with six core partners and supported by nearly 30 organizations across the region. Kristy Cameron checks in with Anthony Desloges in Hour 2. He is the Clinical Manager of the West Ottawa HART Hub. Meantime, an increasing percentage of Canadians would be willing to serve in the Armed Forces if Canada was involved in a major conflict. That’s according to a new public opinion survey from Nanos Research. It also shows that a majority of respondents have a positive view of the Canadian Military, and would support a friend or family member joining the Canadian Forces. We dig deeper with Retired General Tom Lawson, a former Chief of Defense Staff for the Canadian Armed Forces.
