Montreal’s Cassandre Prosper was selected in the second round of the WNBA draft by the Washington Mystics. She grew up in the city and went on to play for the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.

The Manitoba government is putting up $15 million to help restore a once-iconic, theatre in Winnipeg. The new theatre will have seating for around 1,100 audience members, it said.
