Ontario high school students will soon need to pass a Financial Literacy Test in order to receive their graduation credentials. Education Minister Paul Calandra says today’s students need practical and real-world skills, including how to manage money and budgets. But instead of adding Financial Literacy as its own main course within the Grade 10 Mathematics curriculum, it will remain inside the Grade 10 Career Studies curriculum, with a mandatory test attached to it. At least 17 earthquakes have been recorded near Area 51, in Nevada, over the past two days, drawing attention online and speculation around nuclear testing. But Dr. Robert Shcherbakov , associate professor at the Department of Earth Sciences, Western University, says there’s a perfectly ordinary scientific explanation for the activity.
