OPS constable demoted for database searches unrelated to police work

An Ottawa police constable has been demoted after he used police and Ministry of Transportation databases to search for people he knows personally and other members of the public for more than a year.
Ottawa renters are holding tightly to cheaper units, while more expensive new builds are sitting vacant, a joint committee of city councillors has heard.
