After Canada lost its measles elimination status on Nov. 10 2025, there have been 907 reported measles cases in the country since the start of 2026.
Last month, the province introduced Bill 20, the K’ómoks Treaty Act, which would see more than 3,400 hectares of land become K’ómoks Treaty Land.
