Ottawa tables fiscal update boosted by surging oil prices, while industry maintains cautious approach

A better-than-expected fiscal update from the federal government on Tuesday was partly thanks to recent surging oil prices. But whether more investment will be in the industry's future depends on the outcome of memorandum of understanding negotiations between Alberta and the feds, a local economist says.
