Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. April 30th, 2026

April 30, 2026

Toronto Police have arrested a man who allegedly constructed 3D-printed guns – weapons that were involved in a firearm manufacturing and trafficking scheme. ‘Project Cluster’ was launched in late-2025 after RCMP officials flagged some suspicious online ads on a firearms website. And while these ‘ghost guns’ are relatively new, this case highlights an emerging issue, as 3D-printers become more accessible to the general public. Tech analyst Carmi Levy joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 2. Meantime, it’s been nearly a full year since a Canadian department store giant made its final sales. Halfway through 2025, Hudson’s Bay shuttered its doors on every single Canadian location after 355 years in business. And since the mass liquidation last June, the ByWard Market location has remained empty and without a future. That is, until now. We get the latest developments and reaction from retail analyst Bruce Winder.
