Alberta's Referendum Clown Show

"Communications from the Alberta Premier’s office - both physical and digital - should be monitored and tracked. These same measures must be extended to Parker, Rath, and the activist pastor Artur Pawlowski. Lastly, FINTRAC should be activated to investigate the movement's financial underpinnings."

The Canadian prairie province of Alberta is, in many ways, a dream world. I have never been disappointed by my business trips to the world-class cities of Calgary or Edmonton, nor by my leisure travel in search of alpine ski mountains. The people there are like any other Canadians, though they were fortunate enough to be born atop massive reserves of oil and natural gas -unlike, say, those in Manitoba.

Among the Canadian provinces, Alberta’s fossil fuel industry has generated the highest GDP per capita, the highest interprovincial migration rate, and the highest wages for earners below the top 10%. This massive wealth means the province remains the only one in Canada without a provincial sales tax.

On the other hand, Alberta can feel like an ungovernable place of chaos due to the outsized influence of the US State Department and the Maple MAGA mind virus. It is a place where regular people often feel sidelined; instead, "chem-trail" conspiracy theorists, anti-vaxxer kooks, religious activists, and anti-science misfits appear to run the government.

By holding these positions of power - led by the Premier and leader of the United Conservative Party, Danielle Smith - they have cultivated a paradoxical culture of anti-government sentiment from within the very institutions they control. They have effectively turned the province into something like a night-watchman libertarian state, where the wannabe American separatists are now in charge.

Alberta researchers have revealed in recent academic reports that foreign actors - specifically the United States and Russia - have been targeting Alberta separatism to stoke discord. Even the American US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has publicly expressed support for the breakup of Canada via Alberta. Furthermore, a data collection app was recently presented to the Trump White House, for which Alberta separatists have admitted to being the "guinea pigs."

The Alberta NDP has obtained video evidence showing top UCP officials attending a Centurion Project meeting, where an illegally obtained voter database was the primary attraction. At this point, the Premier and her party appear to have lost plausible deniability; they look complicit. While Danielle Smith admits to meeting with President Trump in Florida, the contents and purpose of those discussions remain unknown because no audio exists.

This follows a leaked tape from two years ago in which the Premier pleaded with Americans to delay attacks on Canada until Pierre Poilievre was elected leader. This strategy did not age well. I’m interested in knowing if there is any cross-pollination between the federal Conservatives of Poilievre and Smith’s Alberta party. To make matters worse, both Smith and Poilievre plan to attend a forum with  U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Pete Hoekstra, and CIA mouthpiece Mike Pompeo. Conservative MP crazy Jamil Jivani, fresh off a second meeting with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer in Washington, is set to speak on a panel about the Canada-U.S. friendship at the same event. We also need to ask what is going on in Canada's federal conservative movement. Now, an individual named Jeffrey Rath claims to hold regular meetings with White House officials, spearheading this separatist movement alongside a religious weirdo named Parker.

The separatists have now leaked the personal information - including phone numbers, emails, and home addresses - of two former Premiers, Jason Kenney and Rachel Notley. Meanwhile, both former leaders regularly face online threats calling for their arrest and for "crimes against humanity" charges to be brought against them, effectively demanding modern-day Nuremberg trials.

I have plenty of family in Alberta, and they feel like they have woken up in an alternate universe.  It's time to immediately cancel any planned referendum questions related to Canadian unity within Alberta, and put this gong show out of its misery once and for all.

This government, a devolved and unrecognizable version of the UCP, should be immediately swept from power and consigned to the garbage bin of history. To ensure public safety and provincial integrity, all communications from the Alberta Premier’s office - both physical and digital - should be monitored and tracked. These same measures must be extended to Parker, Rath, and the activist pastor Artur Pawlowski. Lastly, FINTRAC should be activated to investigate the movement's financial underpinnings.

Canadian Prime Minister and fellow Albertan Mark Carney is going to have a busy year thanks to these idiots...

It takes a lot of work to climb back out of the rabbit holes that articles by this writer take readers down.  Whether it is scientists or separatists, somebody seems to be totally wrapped up in some really weird stuff.

I found the tone of the article to be rude and dismissive of the legitimate aims and aspirations of a wide swath of the Canadian population.  When the topic of Quebec separatism comes up, as it has done over and over and over again, the Laurentian Elite of this country insist that all Canadians express complete deference to the aspirations of Quebeckers and adopt whatever policies are necessary to convince Quebeckers to want to stay within Canada .

Do Quebeckers really want to separate from Canada?  Or are they just holding periodic auctions to set the price for maintaining the status quo?  To me the answer is fairly obvious, and it is equally obvious that the correct response to the Alberta separatists is not the childish name-calling of some wanna-be Laurentian Elite.  The correct response is a shopping list of bids for the loyalty of Albertans, starting with offers of amendments to the constitution.

I’d rather not kiss the behind of either province.
