Ottawa Now - The demographics moving in, and moving out, of Canada's Capital

The Greater Ottawa Homebuilders Association is sounding the alarm about families and mid-career workers leaving the city, mainly because they can’t find the right type of housing. This demographic, to be more specific, is searching for ‘ground-oriented and family-friendly’ properties. They want a bit more space to settle down, a reality that today’s condos cannot provide. The Missing Middle Initiative – run through the University of Ottawa – assembled this batch of data for us to digest. And while people might still be moving into Canada’s Capital, those demographics are extremely distinct from the others. Mike Moffatt, the Founding Director of the Missing Middle Initiative, pays us a visit on Ottawa Now.
