If you commute to Ottawa’s West End, you know that traffic disruptions have been very busy lately. Whether it be during the rush hour, or any hour of the day, or any hour during the weekend. It’s been a lot for added stress for Ottawa drivers to navigate, particularly between the Woodroffe and Pinecrest interchanges. For those curious as to why, lanes are being closed to facilitate Stage 2 LRT signage. And despite the 417 being a 400-series highway, it falls under municipal jurisdiction instead of the province’s Ministry of Transportation. Kristy Cameron checks in with Neil Thomson in Hour 1. He is the President of the Kanata Beaverbrook Community Association. Speaking of Ottawa’s LRT, questions continue to swirl surrounding the Victoria Day Weekend shutdown, and what exactly caused it.
