Judge orders former B.C. mayor to pay $160K in damages in defamation lawsuit

A former mayor of Harrison Hot Springs has been ordered to pay a local real estate agent $160,000 in damages after losing a defamation lawsuit.
The Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry says Canada needs to fund a national fleet of modern firefighting aircraft and create an office to co-ordinate wildfire responses.
