Jim Jessop said the batteries, which are used to power a wide range of items like smartphones, were behind two fires at the Ashwarren Road recycling facility last week.

Ottawa's north-south Line 2 and Line 4 airport spur will close Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14 for maintenance, according to transit officials. Replacement buses will provide service along both lines.
