The government of Prince Edward Island is introducing a six-month pilot project with a local ride-hailing company to help Islanders in rural areas travel safely during the evenings and late at night.

After 15 months of declines in Canadians travelling to the United States, new Statistics Canada data suggests the U.S. travel boycott is coming to an end. In May, Canadian return trips from the U.S. totalled 1.9 million, up 9.5 per cent from the same month in 2025 and the second consecutive month of year-over-year growth. The increase was driven by a rise in return trips by automobile (+15.1 per cent), while return trips from the U.S. by air in May remained below levels from the year before, falling 5.5 per cent last month.
