Court documents reveal new details of a hit and run that killed a school crossing guard in Ottawa in March, as the 19-year-old driver prepares to go to trial for dangerous driving causing death.

Michael Clairoux, 52, had served just over one year of a life sentence when he died Friday at Millhaven Institution. Correctional Service Canada did not disclose the circumstances of his death.
