Video showing Toronto police tackling cyclist after alleged traffic violation sparks outcry

Following an arrest downtown that was captured on video, Toronto police say a man now faces three charges after running a stop sign, swearing at officers and attempting to flee. But a Toronto lawyer specializing in cycling injury law says police may have used excessive force.

The program, earlier called the Canada Greener Homes Grant program, was first launched by the federal government in 2021, but lapsed in 2024.
