Carney says plan 'settling in' as economy declines

In his first public comments on the state of the economy since Statistics Canada reported two consecutive quarters of economic decline, Prime Minister Mark Carney says the government's plan to build up the economy is still 'settling in.' Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, meanwhile, is accusing the prime minister of ducking hard questions on the state of the economy.
On Tuesday, the majority of 1,500 visitors stranded in the park because of washed out roads were able to get out with most of Highway 40 reopening.
