Carney says plan 'settling in' as economy declines

In his first public comments on the state of the economy since Statistics Canada reported two consecutive quarters of economic decline, Prime Minister Mark Carney says the government's plan to build up the economy is still 'settling in.' Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, meanwhile, is accusing the prime minister of ducking hard questions on the state of the economy.
U.S President Donald Trump on Wednesday spoke about the current North American trade deal, and suggested that the U.S. is "better without an agreement."
