There have been Governor Generals who haven’t been so good and those who’ve just accepted the position simply for ego or resume adding. It’s clear from the outset that this new GG has superior intellect, a stellar experience out in the world, and is a genuine humanitarian. Ontario police have shut down a large contraband cigarette manufacturing plant on a First Nation’s reserve that was allegedly run by non-Indigenous criminal networks accused of exploiting indigenous lands to cover their activities.
