World Cup fever has arrived in Vancouver, with thousands of Mexico fans going wild on Thursday at the city's FIFA Fan Festival at Hastings Park, where they watched their team score the first goal and first victory of the tournament. Vancouver is meanwhile getting ready to host its first match at BC Place Stadium on Saturday.
Tom Glass, a monumental figure in Western Canadian sports history, has died after suffering a stroke at 77. As "the face of chuckwagon racing," Glass dominated the sport locally and internationally during the 1980s and 1990s.
