Police say they're investigating a 'hate-motivated assault' after a woman allegedly had her hijab ripped off Saturday afternoon in west Ottawa.

In May, Brandy Cooney and Becky Hamber of Burlington, Ont., were found guilty of murdering a boy in their care, and assaulting and confining his younger brother. Today, they'll be sentenced in Milton, and it's possible the court will hear victim impact statements.
