Severe thunderstorms trigger tornado warnings across southwestern Ontario

Red tornado warnings were issued for several London-area communities Thursday afternoon and evening as a severe thunderstorm made its way across southwestern Ontario, bringing torrential downpours and strong winds.
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is shifting its explanation for why it isn’t marching in this summer’s Capital Pride parade, saying two years of "political activism and unplanned disruptions" have triggered worries about student safety. Parade organizers say the event will be safe and secure.
