Construction set to start on first road to Ontario's Ring of Fire mineral deposit

An environmental assessment has been approved for a road the Ontario government says is vital in accessing critical minerals in the Ring of Fire, which Ontario Premier Doug Ford says will add $22 billion to the economy and create 70,000 jobs. The expanded scope of the project and a more refined design has the Werklund Centre's modernization cost estimated at $345 million, up $75 million from previous estimates.
