Ottawa Now - Federal public servants officially switch to 4-day, in-office model as unions still question the feds' messaging

July 6, 2026

Effective today, federal public servants are expected to be at the office for at least 4 days per week. However, the Canadian Association of Professional Employees is calling on Prime Minister Carney to explain the 4-day return-to-office mandate, arguing that the justifications they have been told don’t add up. CAPE President Nathan Prier joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
