All but one of the Toronto cops charged in corruption probe headed directly to trial

The cases against most of the Toronto police officers and six civilians charged in the police corruption and organized crime investigation dubbed Project South are expected to proceed directly to trial in Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice.
A Quebec Superior Court judge will decide whether a historic $31.5-million settlement against the archdiocese of Quebec is approved. The deal could end years of legal action for claimants who allege they were sexually assaulted by members of the archdiocese since 1940.
