Appeal of Ontario judge's decision preventing removal of encampment residents cites 'multiple errors'

The Region of Waterloo has issued a notice of appeal of an Ontario judge's May decision that prevented the removal of people living in a Kitchener encampment. The court made "multiple errors and mixed fact and law," the notice filed this month says.
Friends and family of a man who died following an encounter with Prince Albert police officers say they have lost trust in the justice system during an inquest into his death.

An Ottawa police officer who took down a female officer during use-of-force training too harshly, explained that he "likes it rough," and later made sexual references to hog-tying people has been ordered to forfeit about 18 days of pay. It was his second reprimand for verbal misconduct in just over a year.
