Extradition proceedings begin for three B.C. men arrested in joint U.S.-Canada transnational gang probe

A Canadian accused of being the leader of one of three global drug trafficking rings targeted by U.S. law enforcement this week previously had only a faint brush with the law, keeping a much lower profile than the other two alleged gang leaders who are in prison in India.

WestJet has already begun parking its aircraft ahead of a possible strike by its flight attendants on Sunday. Because the airline has not yet reached a deal with the union representing its cabin crew, parking the planes “minimizes the risk of stranding guests and aircraft,” the airline said in a news release Friday.
