A drought in 2025 contributed to Newfoundland and Labrador's current wildfire challenge, according to Memorial University of Newfoundland biogeography professor Carissa Brown. Environmental conditions and long-term weather forecasting point to well above normal wildfire risk for most of the province.
On Saturday, the Snowbirds will take to the skies of their homebase in Moose Jaw, Sask., for one final time before the squadron's iconic fleet of Tutor jets is retired.
