Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Tues. July 14th, 2026

July 14, 2026

After a lengthy staredown with America’s President, some Canadians are heading South once again. New data from Statistics Canada is showing a steady return to U.S. travel, as return trips by Canadian residents ticked up 3.2 percent this past June compared to June of 2025. This marks 3 consecutive months of growth, including a monster May and a gentle climb in April. Meantime, almost every business inside Ottawa’s historic ByWard Market Building is urging City Council to scrap a redevelopment plan – a blueprint that would force them out after decades in business. In Hour 3, we check in with Maxine Hill, the owner of Canada In A Basket.
