Ottawa Now - ByWard Market Square merchants calling on City Council to reverse course on Market Square plans

July 15, 2026

A group of merchants in the ByWard Market have banded together, calling on the City of Ottawa to backtrack its redevelopment plans for 55 ByWard Market Square. Maxine Hill is the owner of Canada In A Basket and a spokesperson for the ByWard Market Building Tenants Alliance. She joins Kristy Cameron on Ottawa Now.
