Rogers cutting telco customer service jobs amid complaints of long wait times

Rogers announced the closure of six radio stations last week, laying off 230 people. But it didn’t mention that it was also laying off front-line telco customer service agents. The company won’t confirm how many jobs are disappearing, nor will it address reports that workers are now being trained in Morocco.

Mark Carney’s teleprompter quit during a housing announcement in Toronto on Wednesday, and the prime minister used the pause to take a shot at Donald Trump. “I would like to inform you that the teleprompter has ceased to function,” Carney said. “Unlike a certain world leader, I do not view this as a conspiracy.” The crowd laughed.
