After weeks of waiting and hoping, Ottawa residents finally heard from the Ford government today as to which areas were eligible for provincial relief from the Canada Day floods. And for many who live in the hardest-hit sections, a foul smell was in the air after they read the press release. The conversation starts with Nepean MPP Tyler Watt. Then, we hear from an emotional Catherine in Bells Corners, who fears that she might have to sell her house and declare bankruptcy. At the moment, she is ineligible for DRAO coverage. Plus, we check in with Bay Ward councillor Theresa Kavanagh and College Ward councillor Laine Johnson.
Ottawa's transit agency has pledged to put customers first under its newest strategy and dozens of riders showed up at an information session Tuesday night to test that commitment.
