People looking for more space, lower housing costs and easier access to nature are helping drive population growth in Quebec’s Laurentians, according to the province’s latest demographic projections. While Montreal is expected to lose population over the next 25 years, municipalities in the Laurentians are preparing for more residents — and the housing and infrastructure needed to support them.
The Ford government is threatening to rescind support for a high-speed rail line after the Carney government said it would block the expansion of the Toronto island airport.
