Section of Scott Street to temporarily close starting on July 27 for watermain repairs

A section of Scott Street will temporarily close starting Monday, July 27 for emergency watermain repairs.

Scott Street, from Bayview Station Road to Parkdale Avenue, will be closed to traffic, starting Monday, July 27 at 7 am for watermain repairs. The closure will address a section of the watermain identified as needing repairs.

On Sunday, August 2 at 5 am, Scott Street will reopen during IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa. If the work has not been completed, Scott Street may close again on Tuesday, August 4.

Traffic impacts
  • Scott Street will be closed to traffic between Bayview Station Road and Parkdale Avenue and detoured via Bayview Station Road north, Burnside Avenue and Parkdale Avenue, for both directions.
  • Local traffic will be maintained.
OC Transpo
  • OC Transpo bus stops 7332, 8045, 7334 and 7333 will be temporarily closed and detoured during the repairs. Buses will follow the detour noted above.
  • Temporary bus stops will be added along the detour route.
  • The following routes may experience some delays due to the construction and detours: 12, 13, 57, 61 and 75.

Pedestrians and cyclists
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained in both directions throughout construction.
  • Cyclists will be detoured via Bayview Station Road north, Burnside Avenue and Parkdale Avenue. Cyclists can choose to dismount and walk the pedestrian route or follow the signed detour.

We recognize this closure may affect your travel plans. Please allow extra time for your travel as traffic delays are expected. Signage will be in place to help navigate detour routes. 

The safety of the public and construction workers remains our highest priority and your patience during construction is appreciated. Motorists are encouraged to follow all detour routes, observe traffic control signage and adhere to posted speed limits.
