More than 1,000 scrap tires are piled at this Toronto auto shop. No recyclers will take them, owner says

A Scarborough auto repair shop owner says he has been told by the city to clear more than a thousand scrap tires from his business, but he cannot get anyone to pick them up following changes to provincial tire recycling rules.

If a negotiated agreement on a new contract can’t be reached by Aug. 2 at midnight mountain time, those unionized flight attendants could walk off the job.
