Family rallies behind Sask. teen, the lone survivor in crash that killed his grandparents and mother

On July 20, Alfred Pratt was one of four people in an SUV that crashed on Highway 1 near Piapot, in southwest Saskatchewan, and is the only one who came out of it alive. The crash killed his mother, Carol, 49, and both of his grandparents — Judy, 72, and Jim, 75 — all of Estevan.

RCMP say they are investigating the homicide of a 12-year-old Edmonton boy after remains were found in a rural area of northern Alberta. In a news release on Sunday, police said Athabasca RCMP officers responded to a report of human remains found on Thursday, Aug. 6, just before 3:30 a.m.
