An Ottawa police officer who retired earlier this month after he was criminally charged with intimate partner assault, harassment and weapons offences could see his case resolved this fall after completing a treatment program, CBC News has learned.

A man has been charged in connection with a bomb threat against the U.S. Consulate in Halifax, after a propane tank and several containers believed to contain flammable materials were found inside his vehicle, which was parked nearby.
