Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Mon. July 27th, 2026

July 27, 2026

New data from the Ottawa Police Service shows a spike in charges for shoplifting and theft, with Downtown Ottawa serving as the focal point. And if you work at a grocery store, or at the LCBO, you might be the primary target. Joining us in Hour 2 is John Mills, a Downtown Ottawa resident who has noticed a spike in thefts over the last few weeks. Meantime, a drop-in centre in Sandy Hill is relocating. That would be Centre 454, which is currently located on King Edward Avenue. Kristy Cameron checks in with Shauna Marie-Young, the Executive Director of Belong Ottawa. And on a lighter note, if you could turn an Ottawa signature dish into a potato chip flavour, which one gets your vote? CFRA’s Chris Holski chimes in on that debate.
