Manitoba Hydro says crews are working to restore power after a storm hit Winnipeg. Downed trees, out of service traffic lights and other damage have been reported in the city.

The Haynes family from Biggar, Sask., says they tried without success to get their three-year-old son admitted to hospital in North Battleford, Swift Current and Saskatoon. They're frustrated that a 235-kilometre ambulance ride to Prince Albert left them with a $1,300 bill.
