About 2,088 people in northwestern Ontario remain under evacuation due to wildfires in the region, according to a spokesperson for the province's minister of emergency preparedness and response. Durham regional police said the pilot had left at about 8:30 a.m. Friday and was expected back about an hour later. When he did not arrive, a search began.
